AmiMed
Design System

Ami is a high-precision design system engineered for the next generation of medical management and patient care platforms. Designed to serve as a "calm center" in high-pressure healthcare environments, Ami bridges the gap between complex clinical data and intuitive user experience. The system provides a unified visual language for medical billing, patient registration, and practitioner dashboards, ensuring clarity and reducing cognitive load for healthcare professionals.
The project encompasses a comprehensive ecosystem of applications:
Patient Management Portal (Web) – Streamlined registration, scheduling, and personal health tracking.
Medical Billing & Analytics Dashboard – Complex data grids, financial reporting, and insurance verification tools.
Clinical Admin Panel – System-wide oversight, user role management, and healthcare facility analytics.

1. Research & "Calm Center" Philosophy
Studied the intense administrative workflows of medical staff to identify friction points in current billing and EPR systems. Established a "Calm Center" aesthetic—using a Teal & Slate palette—to lower stress levels while maintaining professional authority.
2. Salesforce (SLDS) Alignment
Ensured 1:1 compatibility with the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) architecture. This allows for seamless enterprise-level implementation, making the design system not just a visual tool, but a developer-ready framework for Salesforce-based medical products.
3. AI-Enhanced Pattern Optimization
Leveraged AI-assisted workflows to rapidly prototype and test information density. Used AI to generate realistic edge-case data (complex patient names, IDs, and medical dates) to stress-test table layouts and ensure the system remains robust under heavy data loads.
4. Advanced Component Architecture
Developed a modular library in Figma utilizing the latest industry standards:
Variables: For lightning-fast scaling and theme management.
Swap Components: To allow designers to switch between complex states and medical categories without breaking the layout.
Contextual Density: Specialized components for data-heavy grids that remain readable on small screens.
5. Data Integrity & Precision
Focused on the "Precision over Decoration" principle. Every element—from status badges to typography—was tested for legibility. Implemented a strict 8px grid to ensure perfect alignment in complex medical forms and multi-column registration views.
6. Scalability & Future-Proofing
Designed with an atomic approach, allowing the system to grow from a simple MVP to a full-scale medical ecosystem. Documented clear usage guidelines for navigation, selection controls, and feedback loops to maintain consistency across future updates.
