Story-focused open-world RPG
Elderlan is an original game concept developed as a long-term personal project and documented through a full Game Design Document (GDD). The project explores a dark fantasy world shaped by moral ambiguity, environmental storytelling, and interconnected gameplay systems.
Rather than focusing on a single feature or interface, Elderlan was designed as a cohesive experience — combining worldbuilding, narrative structure, gameplay mechanics, and player progression into one consistent vision. The project serves as both a creative exploration and a demonstration of system-level design thinking.
The project is driven by an evolving Game Design Document that defines the core pillars of the game — tone, world rules, narrative themes, and gameplay systems. The design process begins at a high conceptual level and gradually translates ideas into structured mechanics and player-facing experiences.
Work includes defining the game loop, progression systems, character roles, environmental logic, and narrative structure. Each system is designed to support the overall atmosphere and player agency, ensuring consistency between story, mechanics, and world design.
